The newly adopted Washington State Mathematics Standards (WA Math 2026) are now available, and educational leaders play a critical role in supporting successful implementation. This interactive session is designed for administrators, instructional coaches, and district leaders who are preparing to lead learning, align systems, and support high-quality mathematics instruction across schools and districts.
Participants will:
- Examine what has changed and what remains familiar in the Washington State Mathematics Standards and consider implications for systemwide implementation.
- Identify connections between the standards and instructional practices that promote reasoning, problem-solving, modeling, and student engagement.
- Consider leadership actions and next steps to support educators and students during the transition to WA Math 2026.
